St Paul International School at Sonwar in Srinagar on February 19 was set on fire, completely destroying the administration block, library and computer centre.

The principal of the school Grace Paljor said several threatening calls were made warning of the attack.

Rev. CM Khanna of the All Saints Church in Srinagar said the “school administration used to get threatening calls from the ultras from time to time.”

“They threatened to set the school on fire and they have carried out their threat,” he told rediff.

“After Tyndale Biscoe was burnt in August last year the ultras have been eyeing the Christian schools in the Valley. An FIR has been registered with Ram Munshi Bagh police station,” Rev. Khanna said.

The Tyndale Biscoe School belonging to the Church of North India was burnt following a rumour that the Quran had been desecrated in the US.
