Giving hope to persecuted Christians since 1995

2/4/11 North Korea (VOMCanada) – Winston Churchill once said, “We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and suvival.”

Yesterday I viewed the video I am sharing with you today, three times.  Then I shared it with my husband and we discussed what we had just seen, and I have to tell you there was more silence than discussion.  For you see, as an American Christian, watching this unbelievable story of suffering of a North Korean Christian, I have to tell you that the reality of the freedom I have as an American Christian is so taken for granted…even though I know I shouldn’t…I do…and have.  But once you watch someone like Yang and you really ponder exactly what she is representing, I’m telling you, how can you not want to change and shout from the rooftops what Jesus has done for us.

The Voice of the Martyrs Canada is highlighting the persecuted Christians in North Korea this month, and Yang’s story is an amazing one.  Yang has suffered in every way possible – from emotionally, spiritually and physically.  She was raped, homeless, lost her baby and best friend and had some of her toes amputated, and yet at the end of this video she sings a song about how God can love a wretch like her.

I’m telling you, I felt humbled by her example and so did my husband.  Please take ten minutes now to click on over to VOM Canada and watch Yang for yourself.  Then please share this story with your friends.  We have so much to be thankful for and our sister Yang, and many others like her, need our prayers, but also we need to thank God for their example of Christlike behavior.  I know I am.
