Police detained a family in Beijing for interrogation, while they illegaly went into their home and searched their computer.
12/01/2010 China (ChinaAid) – On Nov. 24, the Haidian Branch of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau and officers from the Domestic Security Protection Squad took the entire family of Fan Yafeng to a police station for interrogation. During the interrogation, his residence was illegally invaded and his computer was used without his authorization.
From 9:10 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. the next day, the three members of Fan Yafeng’s immediate family — including his 3-year-old son — were being interrogated at the police station. Strangely, the police station not only confiscated Fan Yafeng’s cell phone, they also confiscated the keys to his home.
According to an automatic record of use in Fan Yafeng’s computer, the computer was in use between 12:05 a.m. and 1:01 a.m. on November 25. During this time, Fan’s family was at the police station being interrogated.
