Iranian Assyrians to protest against attack on Iraqi church
Iranian Assyrians protested the killing of 52 people – mostly Christians – in Baghdad on November 7th.
11/15/2010 Iran (Tehran Times) – Iranian Assyrians will hold a gathering in front of the UN office in Tehran on Monday to show their wrath over attack on a church in Iraq.
52 people died and 67 wounded in an attack on Our Lady of Deliverance church in Baghdad on November 7.
The attack, which an Al-Qaeda-linked organization claimed responsibility for, was the deadliest against Iraq’s Christian minority since the U.S.-led occupation began in 2003. It chilled the hearts of the remaining members of the Iraqi Christian community, who have so far resisted the urge to flee from the war-torn country.
