Beijing police stop home worship service as oppression against Dr. Fan continues
11/9/2010 China (ChinaAid) – As Dr. Fan Yafeng and eight family members and friends gathered to worship around 3:40 p.m. on November 7, 2010, Beijing police were preparing a home invasion. Two officers entered the room and demanded that they stop the home worship service. The police also demand that the believers show identification.
Dr. Fan refused to produce identification and insisted that the police give a legal basis for their actions. The policemen then charged Dr. Fan with “making noise” and took him to Shuangyushu Police Station. He was not released until 6 o’clock that evening.
Upon release, Dr. Fan noted that no matter what, the Sunday service that takes place in his home will never be stopped.

Beijing’s dealing with Dr. Fan during the last few weeks is appalling. This pattern of suffering is akin to the government’s handling of other human rights activists like Chen Guangcheng or Gao Zhisheng….
ChinaAid calls on the international community to rally behind Dr. Fan and appeal for his freedom. His safety is at great risk. Christians around the world are encouraged to continue in prayer for this faithful human rights lawyer and Christian leader.
