Christian women suffer twice over in Pakistan

10/28/2010 Pakistan (Cath News) – In Pakistan, where Christians are a minority and sometimes suffer for their difference, Christian women are twice disadvantaged. But Rosemary Noel, National Coordinator of the Catholic Women’s Organization in the country, says the real challenge is to forget the religious differences. (John Murray, ucanews.com)
“Facing this issue is not about being Christian or Muslim. Rather this is about dealing with human beings,” said Noel on the sidelines of a major Church meeting on the rights of migrants and the poor in Bangkok last week.
“The challenge is to have others see the human in these vulnerable people.” She acknowledged that we can’t do much “but we do what we can.”
