Prayer update for Iran: pastor’s wife detained since June released

10/15/15 Iran (Middle East Concern) – We are pleased to report that Tina, the wife of an Iranian pastor, has been released. Tina was arrested on 8th June. On 3rd August she was reportedly sentenced to life imprisonment. However, an appeal was submitted, and she was released following a hearing held on 11th October.

Tina’s husband Yousef was arrested on 12th October 2009. He remains detained and there are serious concerns for his situation. There are (as yet unconfirmed) reports that he has been convicted of apostasy (i.e. leaving Islam) and has been sentenced to death.

Yousef and Tina have two young sons.

Iranian Christians give thanks for Tina’s release and request our prayers that:

a.      Tina knows the healing touch of Jesus and quickly adjust to normal life
b.      Yousef will know the presence and peace of Jesus
c.       The charges against him, if confirmed, will be withdrawn and the sentence dropped
d.      The whole family will be reunited soon
e.      Christians throughout Iran will not be intimidated but will know the Lord’s enabling and guidance in daily living
f.        All officials involved will love mercy, act justly, learn about Jesus and choose to follow Him
