Somalia Militants Ban Christian Aid Groups

Members of Islamic radical group, al-Shabaab, accused Christian aid groups of spreading Christianity and threatened to take “appropriate disciplinary measures” against anyone who helps the Christians.
08/10/2010 Somalia (CBNNews.com)-The radical Islamic group al-Shabaab has reportedly banned several Christian aid groups from Somalia .
The militant group accused World Vision, Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), and Diakonia – all of which have offices in southern Somalia – of promoting Christianity in the Muslim country.
Al-Shabaab, which is connected with al Qaeda, has threatened that “appropriate disciplinary measures” will be taken against anyone who helps the Christians.
World Vision and ADRA have since ceased their work in the area, but criticized the radical Islamic group for making false accusations.
