Pastor attacked during Sunday worship
02/22/09 India (All India Christian Council) – Pastor K. Krupanamdam of True Wine Church in Gabbilalpet near Balajinagar, Ranga Reddy District, was beaten on Sunday.
The colony in Shameerpet Mandal, under Alwal police station, gave a place for a church to be constructed. The church was built and nearly 100 people attend services. Recently an anti-Christian group from the village wanted to take the church property. The pastors approached several officials about the problems. The police posted two officers to protect the church
On February 22, 2009, Sunday, around 11:30am, Pastor Krupanamdam started the worship service with prayer. After one song was sung, a group of people led by Rokalbanda Ramulu, a community leader, interrupted the service. Several women in the group started pulling his shirt and beating the pastor.
The police couldn’t handle the situation and called for backup. About five to six mobile police arrived and brought the situation under control. The circle inspector later visited the place. The pastor was brought to the police station, and he registered a complaint but no FIR was filed.
