Pastor attacked in Delhi, India
12/4/08 India (Evangelical Fellowship of India) – Hindu extremists in cahoots with police personnel on November 27 & 28 attacked a church and took important documents, music instruments and Bibles in Gayatri colony, Balijeet Nagar in West Delhi.
According to the Christian Legal Association, Pastor M S Jeblin of St. Pentecostal Capstone Church was attacked by a police constable identified as Joth Ram from Anand Parbat police station along with other extremists on November 27.
The miscreants entered the church premises, demolished its wall and damaged the window panes. Joth Ram also threatened the pastor of dire consequence.
Again on November 30, a group led by a person identified as D K Singh with four police personnel barged into the damaged church, verbally abused the pastor and ordered him to stop the service.
The assailants took the church’s important documents, Bibles and musical instruments.
The Anand parbat police station refused to lodge a complaint.
Pastor M S Jeblin has been serving in the slum area for two years and has about 50 church members.
