Bible Reading Results in Arrests

The condition of ten college students who were arrested in North Korea for reading the Bible and watching a Christian DVD while taking part in an underground Bible study is still unknown. North Korean authorities are refusing to release any information on their status.

4/28/07 North Korea (OnesNewsNow) Voice of the Martyrs is asking the communist North Korean government to release ten college students who were arrested for reading the Bible and watching a DVD about God’s Word.

According to Free North Korea Broadcasting, hundreds of Bibles and CDs were purchased in China and secretly placed in flour bags before being smuggled into North Korea.

“It is likely that they are in a political prisoner camp. It is not out of the question that they were executed,” he suggests. “But because the information is so tightly controlled in North Korea, we simply don’t know at this point what the outcome of their case has been,” Nettleton contends.
