Christian girl killed by gunmen in Mosul

Christians in Iraq have been targeted by Islamic extremists since the war started there in 2003. As this story reveals a Christian girl was recently killed when unidentified gunman opened fire at her.

Dec 9, 2007 Iraq (VOI) – Unidentified gunmen killed a Christian girl in the area of al-Nabi Younes (the prophet Jonah) in central Mosul on Sunday, a police official said.

“Gunmen in a vehicle opened drive-by fire at the 24-year-old Christian young girl at al-Nabi Younes market, killing her instantly,” Brig. Muhammad Abdul-Aziz al-Wakkaa, the director of Ninewa police operations room, told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).
