Raid and arrests on the Lahore offices for Justice and Peace and the Human Rights Commission

11/5/07 Pakistan (AsiaNews) During the newly proclaimed state of emergency, soldiers from the Pakistani army have even attacked the offices of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, arresting one of employees of the Bishop’s Justice and Peace Commission, Irfan Barkat. Travel and communication is difficult at the moment in Pakistan, so much so that many of the Commissions activities have been cancelled.
