Egypt police shoot Eritrean at Israel border

Eritreans are leaving their country due to, inter alia, their government’s intolerance towards religious freedom. Some of the refugees are becoming victims of abuse as this story reveals.

Thursday, November 1, 2007 Eritrea (Christian Today)-Egyptian police shot at a group of Eritrean migrants trying to illegally enter Israel , wounding one man, a security source said on Thursday.


One Eritrean man suffered a bullet wound to his foot, and was being treated in hospital in Rafah, while four others were taken into police custody. The others managed to escape in the direction of the Israeli border, according to the source.
