Catholic Priest attacked and threatened to be burnt alive

5/22/07 India (Persecution Update India) – Father Pal Ninama, resident of Jhabua area in Madhya Pradesh, had shifted to village Parsad in Udaipur in November last year.

Fr. Paul Ninama was supervising the construction of a new school building in Chawand. Father has recently been transferred to the Saint Paul ‘s school in Rishabhdev.

Disgruntled Hindu villagers, who could not get admission to the Catholic Schools, made accusations that the Catholic Priest was promoting conversions to Christianity through the schools.

The VHP (world Hindu council) had earlier two such schools closed.

On Saturday 12th May 2007 a group of about 15 people under the leadership of Mr. Gyaneshwar Chaubisa, the Upa-Sarpanch of Parsad village forcefully entered and ransacked the room. He was threatened and was ordered to leave the village immediately failing which he was threatened to burn alive with his things.
