Pastor Beaten with Sandals

4/15/07 India (Persecution Update India) – Pastor Koteswara Rao Naik, was beaten with sandals for conducting a prayer service at Zakrampalli tanda in Zakrampalli mandal of Nizamabad district, Andhra Pradesh on 4 April 2007.

Pastor Koteswara Rao Naik was conducting a prayer service for the believers in Zakrampalli tanda.

As the prayer was going on, one Kala Naik, a Hindu fundamentalist, came to the meeting drunk. Kala Naik is also one of the elders in the tanda.

Kala Naik objected the loud preaching and demanded that the mega-phone which Pastor was using be switched off.

The Pastor immediately obliged by switching it off and then continued with the prayer meeting.

Kala Naik went away, only to return after some time. This time he started abusing the Pastor and then without any provocation beat him using his sandals for conducting the prayer service.
