Pope Calls for Equal Treatment of Christians in Muslim Countries
(ICC) In a much needed move, the Pope yesterday called on Muslim countries to provide a reciprocal response to their treatment of minority faiths.
“Obviously, it is also to be hoped that Christians who emigrate to countries with an Islamic majority find welcome and respect of their religious identities there,” he said.
In the human rights/religious freedom community, it is well known that Muslims have 2 different standards in terms of the treatment they expect from Western Democracies versus the treatment they dole out to religious minorities in their own countries.

Cardinal Renato Martino, complained recently that while Muslim immigrants are usually welcome into “Christian” countries in Europe and allowed to practice their faith freely, Christian immigrants in the Islamic world are denied those same rights.
