Pope Appoint New Bishop In Vietnam
(ICC) On Saturday, Pope Benedict XVI, appointed a new Bishop for Vietnam even though the Vatican has no official ties with the Vietnamese government.
Forty Nine year old Rev. Joseph Cau Ngoc Tri will serve as Da Nang ‘s new bishop. He is replacing a bishop who retired.
The Vietnamese government, like the Chinese government, insists on control of appointments to the Church hierachy within the country so that they can control and neuter the church.
