Uzbek Government Accuses Pentecostals of Illegal Organizing
(ICC) The Uzbekistan government is accusing a Pentecostal Church and a Jehovah Witness church of organizing illegal gatherings and private religious lessons.
Uzbekistan bars religious activity outside of State controlled organizations. While there are 2,000 registered religious organizations inside Uzbekistan , there are many others not registered with the government and these are targeted by the State.
The Pentecostals were accused of holding language learning classes for the purpose of converting people.
