(Zaman Online) – Islamic religious leaders and Muslims in England condemned last week’s terrorist attacks in London that claimed 55 lives. Twenty-two Muslim leaders gathered at the London Central Mosque, the largest mosque in London , stated that the attackers violated the rules of Qoran by killing innocent civilian people and they cannot be accepted as martyrs. The leaders observed in their statement that the terrorist attacks of a group of radicals increased Islamophobia and victimized Muslims the most. The statement added, “Islam does not approve these murders nor gives credit to these sinful attacks. I believe that the attackers should not be accepted as martyrs.” The leaders called on every person regardless of religion, to assist the security forces in investigating the attacks and punishing the assisters and executors of this brutality.
