(UPI) – Indian police have arrested a suspected Hindu militant in connection with the killings of two Christian pastors in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The 25-year-old suspect, named as Goverdhan, will appear in court July 7. Police are looking for two other suspects, who, like the arrested man, are associated with the militant group Hindu Vahini, Rediff.com reported. However, Hindu Vahini has denied any role in the killings and alleged that the police tortured its activists to extract information. The two pastors, K. Isaac Raju and K. Daniel, were found dead in early June, days after going missing in Hyderabad , the Andhra Pradesh capital, the BBC reported Monday. Both had been taken from their homes by acquaintances on the pretext of prayer meetings in the neighborhood. They were taken to isolated spots on the city outskirts and strangled with ropes. The half-burned bodies were stuffed in bags and dumped at different locations. Police said the motive for the killings was revenge for the conversion of a close relative of Goverdhan’s. Before the killings, Goverdhan and his associates had assaulted Daniel and threatened Isaac Raj after the Christians had held prayer meetings in their neighborhood…
