(ANS) – Christians rejoiced when the anti-Christian government in Delhi was defeated a year ago, but as in Iraq , anti-Christian insurgents are now using threats, violence and murder to force their right-wing Hindu agenda on a country whose constitution guarantees religious freedom. Thomas, founder and director of the Himalaya Evangelical Mission in Gorakhpur , Uttar Pradesh state, told ANS Monday that a missionary originally from Kerala in southern India was murdered in Orissa State in mid-February. According to Thomas, S. Gilbert Raj went to Orissa five years ago and began working as a missionary in Raja Kariar village doing evangelistic outreach, church planting and social ministry.
