(ANS) – A new lobbying campaign for Christians arrested in Eritrea has been launched by the religious human rights watchdog Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) in reaction to a new development in the government’s crackdowns on Christian groups.
CSW says the Roman Catholic Church and the ‘renewal’ movement in the Orthodox Church have been targeted, indicating a fresh emphasis in the government’s repression of religious activity. At the same time, evangelical groups have continued to experience oppression, according to a press release obtained by ASSIST News Service (ANS).
