Catholic Church in Katuwana, Homagama (Colombo District) attacked.
This church which has come under attack twice previously was attacked during the early hours of the morning of Sunday 19th December 2004. The inside of the church had been vandalized and set ablaze using two gas cylinders and tyres. It is reported that the altar, tabernacle, pews, organ have been damaged by the fire. Fans have melted due to the heat of the fire. The Police were alerted by the caretaker. The Police are investigating.

Despite its claims of embracing freedom of religion for all, Indonesia continues to be a hot spot of religious persecution. But why?
Such actions continue because of decade old regulations. These regulations often become a tool for intolerant groups to violate the freedom of worship of minority groups.

Their freedom of religion is very different definition. Unfortunately most of countries the just use the term of freedom of religion for their purposes.
