(ANS) – A Haile Naizgi and Dr Kifle Gebremeski were arrested at their homes in the capital Asmara . Both men are key leaders in one of Eritrea ‘s largest Pentecostal denominations, the Full Gospel Church . The authorities missed detaining Pastor Tesfatsion Hagos of the Rema Evangelical Church , but arrested him on 27 May while he was visiting Massaw. (See RLP 275 – Wed 09 Jun 2004). According to Compass Direct, the men were detained in different police lock-ups in Asmara . Naizgi (chairman of the Full Gospel Church ) is married with four children and formerly worked as an accountant for World Vision. Dr Gebremeski (chairman of the Eritrean Evangelical Alliance) is married, and was formerly a mathematics professor, having a PhD from an American university. Pastor Hagos is married with three children. These three Christian leaders have been imprisoned without charges and without access to their families or other visitors. When relatives visited the respective police stations on 24 August with food and to make inquiries, they were told the men had been moved to an undisclosed location.
