( ICC) – ICC has learned that Fery Silalahi, a Christian prosecutor working on the Bali bombing case has been assassinated in Central Sulawesi . Sulawesi has seen many Christians assassinated in the past year but Fery is the first high profile person to die. He had been working on keeping three men convicted for the bombing in jail who were members of Jemaah Islamiah (JI-a radical Islamic group with ties to Al-Qaeda that is responsible for thousands of Christian deaths in Indonesia ). The victim was working to keep three JI’s in jail. He had helped convict these men for their involvement in the Bali bomb conspiracy. Police have not named any suspects but it is assumed it is a JI (Jemaah Islamiah) killing. The assassins shot him in his car in Palu and then fled on two motorcycles (the preferred method of escape).
