Thursday, November 7th, 2013

The loving adoption of orphans by Christians as an extension of Grace is a practice often unfamiliar in many Muslim cultures. The cultural differences can often lead to tragic outcomes. In this instance, the Christian quality of compassion was unfamiliar to Qatari police, who instead found  suspicious a Christian couple's desire to love and raise an underdeveloped and seriously ill African child. When the ultimately passed to Glory, the couple was accused of killing her harvest her organs and other unconscionable acts. Perhaps what is most revealing is that Qatari authorities seemingly find it more reasonable that a couple would kill a small child to harvest organs, rather than offer the orphan a living home. While prayers were answered and he couple has been released, they are still scheduled to stand trial on the charges. Please pray that Matthew and Grace Huang will be vindicated and set free, and that and their children will be comforted by the Holy Spirit throughout this ordeal.
