Egypt’s revolution, which was triggered by youth demanding greater freedoms and the end of tyranny under former President Hosni Mubarak, is now being hijacked by Islamic groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafis. While many Egyptian Christians were in support of the revolution, there is now much uncertainty over who will take power and fear that Christian persecution will escalate.

In Out of Egypt, ICC examines the violence and discrimination endured by Egyptian Christians since last November through never before published videos, photos and audio clips. This timeline of Christian persecution will cover the Talbiya attack on Coptic protestors, the Alexandria church bombing, the Egyptian revolution, post-revolution Islamic fundamentalism, and more. As Egypt gears up for elections in September, the international Christian community must take heed to Christian persecution in Egypt and understand that more suffering awaits Egypt’s Christians if the Muslim Brotherhood or another Islamic group takes control.
