Pakistani Christian Appeals Death Sentence In Blasphemy Case
04/02/2014 Pakistan (Global Post)

Sawan Masih was sentenced to death for blasphemy by insulting the Prophet Mohammed with a Muslim friend in March last year. Masih has now appealed against his conviction, saying the charges were trumped up to speed the eviction of minority Christians from their land. A report from a US government advisory panel said Pakistan uses blasphemy laws more than any other country in the world.

U.S. Air Force Base In Florida Removes Bible From 'Missing Man Table'
04/02/2014 United States (Christian Post)

According to Florida Today, a dispute over the Bible at the ‘Missing Man Table’ at Patrick Air Force Base's Riverside Dining Facility caused commanders to remove the table from the dining hall. Authorities at the base then released a statement to the local media outlet late last week saying that the table would return to the dining facility, although they were unclear if the Bible would be a part of the Missing Man display.

U.S. Pastor Saeed Remains In Iranian Hospital, Instead Of Prison
03/31/2014 Iran (ACLJ)

Iranian-American Pastor Saeed Abedini, still remains in a hospital room instead of a prison cell. Family members who visited him over the weekend said it's clear the time he has spent in the hospital is a significant improvement over how he was being treated in prison, and that he is receiving meals and medicine but the much-needed surgery to address internal injuries has not yet occurred.

China: Gov't Threatens To Shut Down Christian Care Centers
03/28/2014 China (ChinaAid)

Huizhou Loving Care Center, showed their concern that the government is pressuring their landlord shut the center down. “We would like to keep the farm in Huizhou. The government said they wouldn’t let us live there, and they said they would demolish the house. Then, they said there isn’t a real estate certificate on the house, and it should be torn down,” Huang, the director of the Shenzhen branch, said.

Peace Deal Formally Ends Conflict in Southern Philippines
03/27/2014 Philippines (VOA)

The Philippine government and the country’s largest Muslim Rebel group have signed a peace accord to end decades of violence that has left more than 120,000 dead. More than 1,000 people gathered at Manila's presidential palace Thursday to witness the signing of what is being called a “comprehensive agreement” between lead government negotiators and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

UN Security Council Called To Take Action on North Korea
03/28/2014 North Korea (CSW)

The UN Security Council passed a resolution and included a request for the UN to take action on North Korea's human rights situation. The resolution has an official response, and includes a wide range of recommendations, most notably encouraging UN Security Council consideration of the report, including possible referral of North Korea to an "appropriate international criminal justice mechanism."
