When church leaders are martyred or imprisoned, their families are often left without a provider and struggle for survival. Your gifts to this fund help us to fulfill this Biblical mandate to care for these orphans and the widows. This year, we helped many widows. One of them was the widow of a martyred evangelist in Ethiopia. Birtukan, who was seven months pregnant at the time of her husband's martyrdom, was left destitute and forced to move into her parent's hut — which she and her newborn baby shared with ten others. ICC bought three cows to help Birtukan earn a sustainable income. Now, we're building her a house so that she can raise her new baby girl in a home of their own.
