Canada’s New Ambassador for Religious Freedom Bolsters Worldwide Effort

Canada has now joined the U.S. as a major diplomatic proponent of international religious freedom. The new Office of Religious Freedom at the Canadian foreign ministry is headed up by Andrew Bennett who appears determined to make a difference for religious minorities and victims of religious restrictions around the world.

The group is fights to establish install strict forms of Islamic laws in Somalia. Al-Shababa is enforces cruel and inhumane punishment such as flogging, stoning to death and cutting off arms and feet. The group has vowed to expunge non-Muslims from Somalia. They have murdered several Christians over the past few years.
