Raymond Ibrahim writes for the Gatestone Institute that, “In Indonesia, Muslims threw bags of urine on Christians during worship; in Kashmir and Zanzibar, churches were set on fire; and in Mali, Christianity ‘faces being eradicated.’” Ibrahim’s series, titled ‘Muslim Persecution of Christians,’ is published each month to document cases of persecution – whether it be general discrimination, arrests, or murder – committed by Muslims in majority Islamic countries, Asia and the West.

Iraqi Christians, unlike other groups in the country, don’t have militias that protect them. Islamist extremists target them because they allege that Christians collaborate with American troops. Many Iraqi defenseless Iraqi Christians have been killed, kidnapped, and driven from homes because of their faith. Thus, Iraqi Christians should continue to receive special treatment in getting asylum in Western countries, if they choose to move to those countries. In this regard, the proposals by Foreign Minister of France and Interior Minister of Germany to give special treatment to Iraqi Christians is a move in right direction.
