A new national security bill being proposed in Macau could put Christians at further risk due to its imprecise language. The bill seeks to outlaw acts that could be harmful to "the sovereignty, territorial integrity, unitu or national security" of the People's Republic of China. Such crimes fall into seven categories: treason, secession, subversion, sedition, theft of state secrets, and membership or contact with political groups or organizations in Macau or aborad "which endanger national security."
