Underground PastorsUnderground pastors in persecuted countries are like the “Special Forces” of the US Army. They have incredible drive, stamina, and they can survive and grow in any environment. However, underground pastors possess one notable difference: these men bring life wherever they go and are willing to sacrifice their own lives for their sake of their flocks. Their lives and spiritual growth are vital for the continued strength and growth of the church in times of persecution. The PersecutedPastor B oversees five churches in a heavily persecuted Central Asian country and has been arrested several times for his faith. “One day they put handcuffs on me and chained me to an iron pipe. They also beat and frightened our ministers to force them to renounce Jesus Christ.” In 2009, he was accused of “drawing Muslims from Islam to Christianity.” The pastor was fined and his vehicle was confiscated by the police How We HelpedICC was able to partner with a like-minded ministry to purchase another vehicle for Pastor B which allows him to disciple his flock and continue to reach Muslims for Christ. Pastor B recently wrote to ICC to explain how useful the vehicle has been to his ministry this past year: “We thank our brothers and sisters, the ministers from ICC. Because of you we are more than one year using our new car. Our ministry became more quick and easier with the car. We are very happy that you pray for us and for all churches in the world. Please don't stop. Let our heavenly Father bless you, your ministry, your health, your family abundantly and may grace multiply in your life.”

ICC is constantly monitoring the state of Christian persecution in countries around the world and looking for ways that we can act as bridge between our supporters and the persecuted church. Beyond the projects you see above, we are working in many other areas to provide practical assistance to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
