Bibles to the Persecuted
In countries where Bibles are scarce commodities and cause for imprisonment, believers are starved for even a page of the Word of God. The persecuted genuinely treasure the Scriptures as a priceless source of strength. We are committed to getting as many Bibles as we can into the hands of these believers. The PersecutedIn a country as heavily guarded as North Korea, obtaining a Bible seems impossible. Christians are forced to keep their faith hidden and often have no access to the Bible. If one man or woman is discovered to be a Christian, three generations of their family can be sent to a prison camp for the rest of their lives. Yet the Word of God cannot be silenced. Bibles are like spiritual fertilizer: wherever they go, more believers follow and pastors and believers grow. How We HelpedThanks to ICC donors, by the end of 2012 ICC will have sent 10,000 Bibles carried by hydrogen balloons into the country, bringing light to a nation shrouded in darkness. Some even have a tracking device, so that ICC partners will know where the Bibles are landing.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." |
ICC is constantly monitoring the state of Christian persecution in countries around the world and looking for ways that we can act as bridge between our supporters and the persecuted church. Beyond the projects you see above, we are working in many other areas to provide practical assistance to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
