Assistance to Blasphemy Victim in Pakistan

September 25, 2014

In Pakistan, being a Christian accused of blasphemy is tantamount to a life sentence of insecurity and fear.  In 2011, Aisha* was accused of blasphemy after she tried to help her Christian neighbor settle a dispute over a plot of land with a group of local Muslims.  She was then sent to prison, where she faced regular abuse and death threats.   ICC was able to assist Aisha and her family recover a residence, start a small business, replace the household items that were destroyed, put Aisha’s children back in school and provide them with other necessary support.  Please continue praying for Aisha, her family and those suffering under the blasphemy laws of Pakistan.
