Introducing International Christian Concern (ICC)

Mission Statement

International Christian Concern
(ICC) is an interdenominational human rights organization dedicated to assisting and sustaining Christians who are victims of persecution and discrimination due to practicing their faith.

ICC affirms the foundations of the Christian faith as articulated in the Apostles' Creed, recognizing the Bible as the inspired word of God.

Core Objectives

  • To assist Christians and sustain the churches subject to religious persecution by upholding them in prayer, mobilizing acts of intervention, and other practical means.
  • To promote public awareness and to solicit grassroots support for Christians who are victims of persecution due to the practice of their faith.
  • To investigate, evaluate, and enforce policies to safeguard religious freedom worldwide as a fundamental human right recognized by international covenants.
  • To cultivate partnerships with other Christian organizations who share similar concerns as ICC, seeking to foster unity through cooperation and support, reflective of the character of Jesus Christ.

Actions

International Christian Concern monitors events impacting Christians around the globe. When a legitimate need is identified, we respond quickly with appropriate and necessary action.

Militant religious elements, Communism and other hostile forces continue to represent a serious threat to Christians who practice their faith throughout the world. ICC works hard to counter these threats. We can't ignore their pleas for help without also jeopardizing our own religious freedoms.

ICC works with a capable and dedicated network of national and world Christian leaders, supporting partners, and individuals who hold key positions in government, industry, education and other areas. Collectively, this network responds with prayer and action to assist persecuted believers worldwide.

Ongoing projects of ICC (partial list):

  • Hope House- A Home for Christian girls in Pakistan who have been victims of rape.

  • Hand of Hope-There is a "Hand of Hope" fund for each country. These funds are designated for the individual country by you the donor.  From these funds we assist the Church in the designated country with its highest need. In Indonesia, in 2001-2002 we used the funds to rescue Christians from areas under attack by the Islamic Jihad. Now we are rebuilding homes for the refugees as well as drilling wells and buying livestock to get the believers back on their feet. We use these funds to help in the most urgent need.
  • Operation Assist - Sustaining the persecuted church by offering practical help to Christians living in repressive countries.
  • Underground Pastors Fund-These funds are used to train underground pastors as well as to support them and their families on a monthly basis.
  • Operation Safe House - Temporary housing and discipling for Christian converts who are under threat of imprisonment or death.

Who We Are

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.
--Proverbs 31:8

ICC is a coalition of concerned Christians who believe that we must reach out and help Christians persecuted for their faith. ICC is not an extension of any foreign organization or church denomination. The more you become familiar with ICC, the more you will realize just how unique and important this ministry is to the body of Christ.

We minister to those who are on the front lines of a spiritual battle. These Christians frequently pay a price, sometimes costing them their lives, landing them in prison, and causing much hardship. Jesus said: "I was sick and in prison and you came to me."

Moreover, the Bible says: "All those who want to live a godly life in Christ will suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12). Rarely is this preached in America. At least two-thirds of the Christians of the world today are suffering under some form of persecution.

We at ICC believe that we can, and must, do something to demonstrate our love and support for persecuted Christians. We can help by:

1. writing letters of encouragement
2. writing protests to government leaders

3. raising public awareness

4. soliciting our government's support

5. offering practical assistance to the persecuted
6. remembering the persecuted in prayer (Hebrews 13:3).

Statement of Faith

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
    born of the Virgin Mary,
    suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and life everlasting.

Amen.
