900 Christians Slaughtered in Nigeria in 2012

ICC Note:

900 Christians were murdered in Nigeria in 2012. Many of those killed were slaughtered by the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram. The group's goal is to carve out a separate Islamic state in Nigeria's northern regions. By killing Christians found in Nigeria's north, the group is creating a purely Islamic society.

5/5/2013 Nigeria (Washington Times) - More than 900 Christians were slaughtered in Nigeria last year, giving it the distinction of being the nation with the highest Christian death toll.

All were victims of the Boko Haram group and other Islamic militants, CBN News reports.

“They are so radical they don’t even spare Muslims. If Muslims are sympathetic to any cause at all … if they are sympathetic to the Christians cause, or the minorities cause, they are also termed as infidels,” Mark Lipdo, program coordinator for the Stefanos Foundation, told CBN News.

Lawyer Emmanuel Ogebe warned that the country may be teetering on the brink of a full-fledged religious war.
