‘My Heart Still Trembles at the Thought’

An ICC-supported pastor in Iran recently told us about a divine encounter he had with a prostitute. After responding to the Gospel and giving her life to Christ, God empowered her to leave her former ways and put her trust in Him. God is using underground pastors to bring transformation to the world’s most persecuted countries for His glory! We hope you are encouraged by this pastor’s ministry update as much as we are:

“What a dreary night,” the pastor wrote. “Sadness is hitting like a wave and darkness and coldness is like a ring around it. Tonight is the vigil of the revival night (Islamic ritual). It’s 2 a.m. and we are at a park beside the mosque.

“We could hear the cries and chants from the mosque. What a sorrowful night. Our spirits are so heavy. My heart is broken for my people. They are awake and praying and hoping for a way and a door to be opened to them. How Satan has beaten my people but the true God desires to bring Salvation to them today.

“Lord, who should I talk to today? Whom have you called?

“I pray: ‘Lord, show me who is hurting today. Lord, use us.’ Then I sat beside two ladies and feel the Lord is asking me to talk to them. We talk with each other and I tell them about God. One of the woman began crying so much. I felt her pain and I told her the Gospel and how God had changed my ruined life. We became friends and set up a time to talk the next week.

“We met and she told me, ‘I sell my body. I work every day and sell myself even though I have a husband, so I can earn some money. I am tired of it. I asked God to save me. I am afraid that one of those guys that I am with would do something to disgrace me, but I can’t afford to pay rent so I did prostitution.

“As I shared with her, she repented and asked Jesus into her heart. ‘I am now at the beginning of my new life,’ she told me. ‘I no longer am a prostitute.’

“My heart still trembles at the thought. How amazing are the works of God! Oh, how my people need Christ. The power and might..."
