Nigerian Security Forces Kill Two More Boko Haram Leaders

Two more senior Boko Haram officials have been killed by Nigeria security forces. Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, is responsible for many attacks against Christians in the central provinces of Nigeria. With the goal of turning Nigeria into an Islamic state, Boko Haram has burned Churches and homes and has murdered Christian all in an effort to drive Christians out of Nigeria's central provinces by terror. ICC is glad to see that the Nigerian government has heard the plight of these suffering Christians and is stepping up its efforts to confront Boko Haram. 

9/21/2012 Nigeria (Washington Post) - Nigeria’s army says it has killed two leaders of a radical Islamist sect in the country’s northeast.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Sagir Musa said Thursday that soldiers shot dead two Boko Haram commanders at a highway checkpoint near the city of Maiduguri Wednesday.

Musa said the men had weapons in their car and that authorities had received intelligence indicating they were planning an attack.

He did not give further detail on their identities.

These killings come days after Nigeria’s army said it killed a Boko Haram spokesman and another ranking member.

The sect, which only speaks to journalists at times of its choosing, could not immediately be reached for comment.
