Tamirat, an Ethiopian Christian, was imprisoned after Muslims falsely accused him of desecrating the Quran. A known evangelist among Muslims, Tamirat became the target of some less-than-friendly Muslim neighbors after he refused to convert
to Islam. He served in prison for over two years, and was recently released. Tamirat was joyful to be released, however sullen to learn that his property had been taken, and local Muslims are currently fighting to take his house away as well.ICC provided funds for Tamirat to start a small shop, providing a sustainable income in this time of uncertainty.
