ICC received a heart-warming report this morning from the orphanage we support for Burmese children. For a little over a month now, a group of 10 kids has been accompanying their teachers to visit local Karen villagers (a Burmese tribal group) and children on Sunday afternoons. The ICC children then hold a simple church service by sharing Bible stories and singing a few worship songs. They close by dividing themselves among the villagers and praying for them.
The manager of the orphanage reports that the children are even more eager to go on these types of outreaches than the adults, and there is always a bit of competition to see who gets to join the outreach group. For children who have faced everything from seeing their families destroyed by war to near starvation, it is nothing short of amazing to see them so eager to joyfully share Jesus with their fellow Karen. It is truly a testament to the healing power of Christ.
