Members of our staff will be meeting with various members of Capitol Hill regarding the religious violence has been taking place in Nigeria. Our hope is to raise awareness and encourage the U.S. to protect the rights of religious minorities in Nigeria.
As you may know, the violence in Nigeria has claimed hundreds of lives in the last six months alone. Christian churches and individuals, considered “soft targets” for militant groups, have increasingly become the focus of attacks some believe are designed to tip the nation of 160 million into a large scale religious conflict bordering on civil war.
How can you help? Simple.
First: pray! Pray for the hearts of congressmen and congresswomen to be touched by the testimonies of Nigerian Christians, inspiring them to actively pursue the protection of Nigerian religious minorities.
Second: be involved!
Today, you have an opportunity to speak up on behalf of Nigeria’s more than 80 million Christians. Sign our petition to the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, urging his government to step up their protection of Christians, and join us as we advocate on behalf of our brothers and sisters who face an enemy intent upon destroying them simply because they choose to follow after Jesus.

You can also print out the petition, and encourage your friends and family to sign it as well.
Third: Call your representative and ask him or her to co-sponsor H.R. 5822 (representative) or S. 3249 (senator): Boko Haram Terrorist Designation Act of 2012. Your voice matters!
