Boko Haram Aims to Wipe Out Christianity

Boko Haram Aims to Wipe Out Christians in North - Pastor Owogeri

ICC Note

"Believe me,  Boko Haram is a way of ending Christianity in the country and to continue with one religion affair especially in the North.”

By Precious Dikewoha

06/28/2012 Nigeria (The Nation)-A Port Harcourt, Rivers State-based cleric, Bishop Emmanuel Owogeri of Soul Changing Bible Ministry, has described the Boko Haram insurgency in the North as a plot by Islamists to end Christianity in that part of the country.

Bishop Owogeri disputed insinuations that the insurgency is politically motivated, arguing that Muslim fanatics backing the group plan to make Islam the only religion in the North.

He made the declaration shortly after declaring a three-day fasting and prayers session for Christians who lost their lives to the violence.

“When I see people saying it is political, I just laugh at them because they don't know what the Muslims are up to. Believe me, Boko Haram is a way of ending Christianity in the country and to continue with one religion affair especially in the North.”

He added: “My Church has declared three days fasting and prayer for the thousands of persons who lost their lives because of the activities of the devil called Boko Haram and I want to advice Christians in the North to be watchful and alert for the sake of their lives.”
