We've been closely monitoring the imprisonment of a group of Christians in Saudi Arabia. The women were strip-searched and the men were brutally assaulted after holding a prayer meeting. We last talked to one of the prisoners today and he had this to say, "We want you to help us to get out of prison in every way you can, including prayer. Please tell your governments about our plight, contact human rights organizations and others and inform them about us." We can do something to help our fellow brothers and sisters facing this persecution. Their human rights have been violated and are being wrongly persecuted for practicing their faith. Please pray for them, for their health, and for a speedy release from their imprisonment. You can sign our petition to the Saudi Ambassador for the quick release of the prisoners. You can also call the Saudi Arabia Embassy in the United States at (+1) 202 342 3800. Thank you for your prayers and action. We will keep you posted with any further updates we receive.

Keep these Indian Christians in your prayers as they're facing persecution from Indian ultra-nationalists. The ultra-nationalists beat a pastor and another believer, dragged them around the village, and tied the pastor to tree. The police came and arrested the two men and imprisoned them for 24 hours. The two men were accused of "forced conversions," common yet false accusations leveled against believers. There is fear of future persecution at the hands of the Hindu extremists.

The news of arrests, disappearances, detention in forced labour camps or house arrest of bishops or priests, is quite damaging for China. If these people have done something wrong, please send them to court, not to prison or isolation. This mode does not solve any problems and damages China’s international image.

Hope. It shines from the faces of people on the streets. And it's infectious. The team is looking forward to new freedoms and what they might mean for Gospel outreach. "I think it will be a lot easier to travel. There won't be the restrictions that there had been. I think it will also be easier for the church in Burma to reach out to their own country."

Be encouraged by this Indonesian church and their resilience to follow God, featured in the video below. They have been denied access to their building by a police blockade. Rather than fold under the pressure, they pray outside and face harassment by Muslim radicals. The supreme court of Indonesia ruled that this church has proper permits and should be allowed back in their building, but the mayor of the city refuses to comply with the ruling.

"The persecution because of the name of the Lord is real and it is happening to different people around the world. Those who have their freedoms [should] be supporting [the persecuted] because people are persecuted for Christ. ...The enemy is very determined. The believers should also be determined to raise the flag and defend the name of the Lord," said Pastor Umar of Uganda after he was attacked with acid for his conversion from Islam to Christianity and success in reaching Muslims. Pray for him and pray that believers take his statement to heart.
