Indian police arrest eight evangelists for preaching the gospel. The Christians were accused by Hindu radicals of “forcefully converting” non-Christians. False accusations of forceful conversion are usually made against Christians to stop them from preaching the gospel to Hindus and other non-Christians.
10/05/2011 India (Catholic Culture)-Police in India’s southern Andhra Pradesh state have imprisoned eight evangelists after Hindu fundamentalists accused them of attempting “forceful conversion.”
The Evangelical Fellowship of India has said that members of the Brethren Church, from the state of Kerela, had permission from police to preach the Gospel. But while they were preaching, a mob led by Hindu extremists surrounded them and took them to the police station.
