Full Story of Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani
This is the brief story of Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani, an Iranian pastor being held in an Iranian prison for his faith. Please remember him in prayer.
11/1/2010 Iran (Present Truth Ministries) – Behrouz Sadegh-Khandjani is 33 years old and resides in Tehran, Iran. His father is Iranian and his mother is from the Congo. He is the pastor of a network of house churches, from a Christian background. He was saved when he was 15 and began to minister to the youth right away leading many to the Lord. He is married to Fatemeh Torkkajouri (who was also imprisoned for her faith for one month starting June 18th of this year). They have one daughter who is five years old.
He has been arrested for his faith a total of three different times in the past 4 years. He was arrested in December 2006 for apostasy (leaving the Muslim faith, even though he was never a Muslim), action against national security (evangelism within the country), and contact with the opposition (people from countries outside of Iran). He was acquitted of these charges and released in January 2007.
He has been arrested twice in 2010. First, he was summoned to go to Shiraz in southern Iran on January 11, 2010 to offer an explanation after the arrest of several believers. On arrival he was arrested and detained for several months. He was released in March 17th. The most likely reason they summoned him to Shiraz, which is
The second time he was arrested was June 16, 2010. In the interval he was not in prison himself, but more believers had been arrested. Behrouz wrote letters of protest to various government officials and agencies. He also continued to minister to the churches throughout the country. After requesting a meeting to discuss the situation with authorities he was summoned to Shiraz for that purpose. When he arrived they took him into custody and put him in the “plate 100” security prison.
It is critical that we continue to pray for pastor Behrouz and make our voices heard. Please reach out to your elected officials and to the international news media so that Behrouz’ case will come to light. If you want to know How To Help please visit that page above.
