Prayer update on Christian convert from Islam relocating due to discrimination

Prayer: update #5 on BMB relocating due to discrimination

9/6/2010 Middle East (Middle East Concern) – In April we requested further prayer for a lady believer from a Muslim background (BMB) married to a believer from a Christian background (BCB) of a different Arab nationality. The wife relocated to Europe in March 2009 having fled to a third Arab country in late 2007 because of pressure from her family and the lack of official recognition of the couple’s marriage. The husband remains in his own country.

We are pleased to report that the wife’s asylum application has been successful. She has been told to apply for a passport. We are also pleased to report that her language study is progressing well.

Consideration is now being given to how to reunite husband and wife. This process is complicated by their having a marriage certificate issued by an Arab church but not one issued by a state.

Christians supporting this couple thank God for His provision for her and us for our prayers. They request our continued intercession that:

  1. The wife’s legal documents will be processed quickly
  2. The husband and wife will be reunited soon
  3. Those assisting them will know the Spirit’s guiding and enabling, and be able to help them effectively at this time
  4. Adequate spiritual, pastoral and financial support will be available for them both
  5. All officials involved will act justly and show mercy
