6/10/07 India (Persecution Update India) Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) activists handed over nine members of a team which was allegedly "converting innocent people into Christianity," to the police in Sirsi, North Kanara , Karnataka, June 10th.
The Believers had assembled for Sunday Worship, when HJV activists barged into the prayer house and disrupted the Worship.
The Radical elements grabbed the Christian song book Ujjivana Geetegalu - and tore the pages of the book.
Paul and his wife, Estela Pramod, a social worker, Ganesh, Antoni John, Zavier, Iresh, and Usha, were listed in their complaint.
HJV district coordinator Krishana Esale told reporters the 'conversion process' was going on for the past three months in a 'rental hut' of one Laxminarayan Shet.
The local MLA Vaidya has even threated to seek the suspension of Estela who is a government nurse.
