Church Report Stolen and Pastor Arrested In Jabalpur

Global Council of Indian Christians

6/7/07 India (Persecution Update India) – Pastor Sudheer Xavier of India Every Home Crusade, Jabalpur was arrested today at 2.30pm (7th June) on a false charge of forcible conversion.

Hindu radicals managed to steal a letter from the postal department which was sent by Sudheer Xavier.

The letter, written to his operational office, consisted of details of the pastoral works, the number of believers and other details of his pastoral work.

Keeping this letter as a proof the Hindu radicals along with the Jabalpur civil lines police arrested Sudheer aged 52 years from his home and filed a false case against him and Pramod Kumar and K. Kumar under Mahya Pradesh anti conversion act sections 1 and 4. The believers were detained in the civil lines police station for 3 hours before being released on condition.
